Hope you gained one or two things from my previous post? This new post is about the qualities a good manager. I mentioned them in the previous post but would expatiate more on individual qualities  in this post.

VISION 

A vision is an inspirational description of what an organisation would like to achieve or accomplish in the mid-term or long-term. It is meant to serve as a guide for choosing current and future courses of action. Your vision statement is your inspiration which affects all your strategic planning.


It may apply to the entire company or a section of the organisation. In a nut shell a vision is the height an organisation intends to achieve in the future(Long-term). to grow in all aspects an organisation must have a strong vision statement and work towards achieving it. Major organisations of today started small but have a vision big vision which brought them to their current status today e.g. Facebook started with a couple of young guys but with a big vision, today they are listed in the major stock exchange in the US, we have so many examples like that such as Google, Citibank, major banks in Nigeria, Major fast food franchises to mention a few.

A good vision statement must possess the following qualities:
1-Brevity which means, it must be strait to the point,
2-Clarity which means it must be devoid of ambiguity,
3-It must be abstract and challenging,
4-it must state the organisation's purpose,
5-Must be future focused,
6-Must set a desirable goal which matches the organization's success.

We can see that the vision statements above harmonized all the listed characteristics.
